Recently, I discovered Clint Bellanger’s Heroine Dusk. It’s an oldschool dungeon crawler written in HTML5/JavaScript, and it’s pretty fun. Even better, it’s open source and licensed permissively. After playing around for a while, I got the code mostly figured out and it’s pretty easy to work with. The aesthetic and gameplay is perfect to fill the gap between Ascension and Ascension 2.
Thus, Ascension: Adventure was born. Gameplay is pretty much the same, but it will have different maps, different enemies, and more story. It should be out by the end of the month, so stay tuned!
